Haircare: My Routine + Favorites

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become so much more aware and intentional about the products I use on a daily basis. Gone are the days of burning my hair (and fingers/wrist/neck) with a curling rod. No longer am I okay with buying overproduced shampoo and conditioner with harsh metal chemicals that can not only impact the health of your hair, but the health of your skin.

That being said, below are my go-tos:

  1. Maria Nila Salon Shampoo + Conditioner

    1. I was gifted products from Maria Nila, a Swedish haircare brand, maybe two years ago as part of a PR package, and I have been in love ever since. The products are extremely gentle and are 100% vegan, sulfate and paraben-free.

      1. I’m currently using the Head & Hair Heal shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner.

  2. Gisou Hair Oil

    1. Not only does this smell incredible, it adds a little extra shine to your hair and helps enhance some of that softness.  Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it looks pretty on your dresser/shelf.

  3. Vegamour Gro+ Serum

    1. I’ve been taking Vegamour gummies for a few years now, but I have to say their hair serum is something I’ve been newly integrating into my routine and the results are insane. I’ve definitely lost some thickness and volume in my hair over the years from stress and just life, but this has helped so much. (Here’s a TikTok video showing you some of the progress - and this isn’t sponsored, I just had to share because it’s amazing).

      1. Their shampoos are also incredible, I usually switch between Vegamour and Maria Nila.

  4. Vegamour Gro+ Gummies

    1. My hair has become noticeably thicker and healthier since taking these gummies over the past few years. They’re vegan, GF, and I can’t recommend them enough.

  5. Wet Brush

    1. Maybe like seven years ago, my little cousin introduced us a world where brushing your hair didn’t have to be a painful experience - who knew?! I’ve been using the Wet Brush for years and probably will forever.

  6. Dyson Airwrap

    1. I am a pretty low-maintenance person when it comes to my hair - I had no idea that something so insanely incredible and magical could exist out there. I’ve been using the airwrap since November 2019 (?!), and really can’t believe that I was using those brutal metal rods to give myself curls and burns for so many years.

    2. Instead of using insanely harmful high heat, the airwrap uses an aerodynamic phenomenon called the Coanda effect, which when propelled at the right speed and pressure, naturally follows an adjacent surface, pulling in the surrounding air. The Dyson Airwrap™ styler harnesses this phenomenon by creating a spinning vortex of air around the cylindrical shaped barrels of the tool. The barrels attract the hair through the airflow, encouraging hair to wrap itself around the barrel and curling it through the use of the air vortex.

    3. No need to blow dry your hair, because the airwrap actually works better when your hair is a bit damp. Your curls will last longer, your hair will be shinier, softer, and it typically takes me ten minutes at the most.  I know it’s a bit of an investment, but I think it’s 100% worth it as my hair feels and looks healthier rather than dryer after each use, it’s given me so much of my time back when getting ready, and it has so many attachments, it’s really the only hair tool you need!

I can’t speak more highly of any of these products. I’ve linked them all for you here in my Amazon storefront to make shopping easier. Feel free to reach out with any and all questions!

Enjoy!
